tuckpointing
Tuckpointing involves the replacement of deteriorated mortar joints using brick-coloured and contrasting mortars. The fine application of the contrasting mortar gives the neat appearance of a thin joint.
Tuckpointing repairs damage caused over time by environmental factors.

stucco restoration
Stucco restoration and replacement involves the application of a charcoal and cement mixture, using a special spray technique. The result is a consistent, rough-textured finish, free from cracks and chips.

limestone restoration & repointing
Limestone restoration involves the removal of deteriorated limestone joints, then either an application of a limestone wash or a hot water bleaching technique to restore the original colour.
Limestone can then be repointed, and new lines scribed, or limestone tuckpointed.

repointing
Repointing is the replacement of damaged or fretting mortar joints. It involves cutting out the original lime mortar to a depth of around 20mm and replacing it in the original colour. Mortar damage is caused by time and environmental factors, including rising damp.

brick replacement & restoration
Damaged or fretting bricks can be removed and replaced with heritage bricks, matched to give a seamless finish and classic look.

false/render tuckpointing
False, or Render Tuckpointing is the application of an ochre render, etched with a brick pattern which is based and then white lines applied to achieve the look of tuckpointing perfection. It can be applied over extremely damaged brickwork, rendered facades or blueboard building products.

Rising damp is the absorption of ground moisture into the lower courses of limestone or brick and mortar, which causes deterioration. Damp Coursing is an essential preventative measure to ensure that tuckpointing, brickwork and repointing are protected from moisture. It involves applying a protective membrane and is included in all restoration work.
